Here are two centers to take your CNA classes in Georgia State. Both of these programs prepare students to appear the Georgia’s CNA certification exam.
Chattahoochee Technical College’s CNA Program- The continuing education department of Chattahoochee Technical College offers CNA training programs to students. Students can become a Certified Nursing Assistant by enrolling in the comprehensive CNA course. The course requires more than 75 hours of classroom and laboratory coursework along with 30 hours of clinical experience. During the CNA course students learn a variety of medical knowledge and skills. The CNA course at this college mainly deals with safety issues in patient care.
Although it is not mandatory, students are expected to take prerequisite courses in anatomy and medical terminology. Students must pass a competency exam that tests the nursing knowledge and skills. After the students successfully pass the test, they are placed on the Georgia’s Certified Nursing Assistant registry.

Augusta Technical College- The Augusta Technical College is a community college that offers certificates, diplomas and associate’s degree programs in a varied array of courses and technical fields. It offers CNA training courses through its patient care assisting certificate program. The CNA program at ATC provides students with knowledge and skills related to nursing and patient care. Students learn basic medical skills such as monitoring patient’s health, dressing the patient, providing hygiene assistant, checking vital signs and work under the supervision of higher medical officers.
The program combines both theoretical classroom instructions as well practical clinical experience. Basic courses are offered in nutrition, diet therapy and medical care terminology. After successfully completing, students will be eligible to sit for the CNA certification examination.
