CNA training programs

The cost of CNA training programs generally range from about $400 to $1200. But don’t worry about the large cost of the training program; you can also get a good amount of financial aid for your course of studies, or you may also be able to find free CNA training classes. You may get free CNA training classes at some medical facilities where they will train you at no cost; however, you will need to sign a contract stating that you would work for the stated period of time with that same medical facility.

During the CNA training program, students will be taught various theoretical and practical lessons related to nursing. They will have to apply these learning in the medical field as a nursing assistant. Once the CNA training classes is completed, the CNA students will have to appear for a CNA certification exam. The certification exam may be offered by the school themselves, or by the board of health of that particular state or by Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP). Upon successful completion of the certification exam, the student will be awarded a legal certification stating that he or she is legal permitted to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in any kind of medical facility.

Here are two centers to take your CNA classes in Indiana State. The CNA programs at both of these schools are approved by the Indiana State Department of Health. These programs prepare students to appear the Georgia’s CNA certification exam.

Indiana University Northwest- The Indiana University Northwest is located in Gary, Indiana. The continuing education department of Indiana University Northwest offers CNA training programs to students. The CNA training program at Indiana University Northwest is a 3 week course, all of which take place off campus. The first week of the class takes place in a church in Merriville, Indiana while the later two weeks of clinical experience class is performed at various medical facilities. The CNA program consists of 105 hours of training. These training hours include 30-32 hours of study over a 5 day period in classroom. Additionally, students need to spend 75-80 hours over a 2 week period in clinical experience.

Throughout the course, students learn and practice basic nursing services such checking vital sins of patient, maintaining their hygiene (bathing, grooming and dressing the patient) and administering first aid. After successfully completing the required number of credit hours, students can sit for the CNA certification exam offered by the Indiana State.

Purdue University Calumet- The Purdue University Calumet provides CNA training courses to students at its campus at Hammond, Indiana. The classes are open to all students who meet the basic requirements. The CNA class at Purdue University Calumet initiates with 30 hours of theory classes which includes basic knowledge of nursing. The theory class is then followed by 75 hours of practical clinical classes at any medical facility.

During the CNA training course, students learn to aid patients in their daily personal healthcare. They learn to assist patients to maintain their hygiene. They are also taught basic medical knowledge and skills that can be applied in a medical healthcare facility environment. After the successful completion of the course, students can sit for the State CNA certification test.
